No. 92, No. 95 and No. 98 are the three common oil numbers we find in gas stations.

Generally, the car owner's manual and the fuel tank cap will indicate which gasoline number is recommended for refueling. It is best to refuel according to the oil number marked on the cap. This is the most suitable for the vehicle engine.

But never add gasoline with a lower grade than the recommended one. For example, if the label recommends adding 95-octane gasoline, never add 92-octane gasoline.

Is the higher the oil number for car refueling, the better

There are three common car oil numbers: 92, 95, and 98. The difference between these three types of gasoline is the anti-knock ability and octane number. The oil number is the largest and has the strongest anti-knock ability, so No. 98 has the strongest anti-knock ability.

So what is detonation?

Normally, when a mixture of oil and air enters an engine, a piston compresses them, a spark plug ignites these high-pressure mixtures, and the energy from their combustion and explosion is converted into the energy needed to run the engine. However, due to the principles of friction and heating, sometimes these mixtures do not require the participation of spark plugs. This abnormal self-ignition phenomenon is called detonation.

If you blindly choose the oil with the highest oil number, it will affect the life of the engine over time. Some more expensive cars have engines with higher compression ratios and strong power, which require higher engine combustion quality. So you need to add a higher oil number.

How much is the best amount to add to the car

It is easy to add half or two-thirds of the fuel in urban areas. If it is inconvenient to refuel, just add a jump gun. Because generally the fuel tank jump gun only accounts for about 95% of the fuel tank. But don't refuel until you hit the bottom, as this can easily damage the oil pump. If the car is driving a long distance, the fuel tank can be filled up; if the car is driving in urban areas for a long time, if refueling is convenient, just fill it up to the 6th or 7th level each time.

Never wait until the fuel is almost empty to refill. You can refuel in time when a quarter of the fuel tank is left.
